It is the same train. QR initially called it a heritage train but it
is not. It is heritage style. The carriages are new bodies on
underframes off old steel guards vans.
QR will operate it in association with the operators of the Orient
Express and its official name is the Great South Pacific Express.
Regular trips from Sydney to Cairns are planned commencing late 1998.
Special trips may be made any where in Australia.
In all, there are 21 cars in the train.
