UP Selling off ex-C&NW F-units and some SP business psgr cars

Union Pacific Offers Chicago & North Western F-units For Sale - Closing Date
Dec.12, 1997

Union Pacific (UP) has put the six (6) former Chicago & North Western
F-unit diesels (F-7A #400, 402 & 403, F7B 315, 410 & 411) and three business
cars up for sale. The C&NW F-units are currently stored at UP's Cheyenne, WY.,
yard. The business cars are ex-C&NW 10/6 sleeper 410 "Lake Michigan," ex-SP
business car 106 "Oregon," SP instrument car 252 and SP 10/6 sleeper 292
"Sunset Limited."

UP is accepting bids on the "as-is, where-is" sale through noon Friday,
Dec. 12, 1997. Interested buyers may arrange a time and date to view the
equipment by e-mailing Robert E. Dombrowsky, or faxing a request to his
attention at (402) 271-6284. Prospective buyers must also convey an earnest
intent to purchase bu having their bank fax (to Robert E. Dombrosky) a letter
of credit for a minimum amount of $50,000, effective for a minimum period of 45
days. Upon inspection of the equipment, parties wishing to place a bid will be
provided with an Invitation to Bid form, a document required for submission of
all offers.

None of the ex-C&NW F-units are operational, and parts are missing from
them. They have been parked outside the entire time they've occupied the UP's
old Cheyenne roundhouse. All units except the C&NW 315 were in business train
service until 1987 or so.
