Mick, the 9.17 down Belgrave (the "super" express) is meant to meet the
10.30 Puffing Billy train at Belgrave. The next down Belgrave will
leave very little time for such connection, most likely to miss the
connection when it is running late!!

Obviously the up caulfield group trains are getting packed like sardine
cans from Richmond onwards by taking commuters from Sandringham and
Burnley group lines. Interesting how the P.T.C. expect City Loop
passengers, especially those using Parliament and Melbourne Central
stations to go to Flinders Street and then around the loop clockwise to
get to their stations. Such exercise, as they have indicated, would add
more travelling time. Just wondering why they could not provide more
City Loop services on the Caulfield loop? How about additional shuttle
services between Caufield and Flinders Street - stopping Malvern, South
Yarra and then via the City Loop - during AM peak and reverse in the PM
peak? This certainly will minimise overcrowing on the Caufield line
trains and provide direct Loop service for Burnley Group passengers.
