Aha, listening to the media again. The 36% figure was achieved when a
freight train conked out in a rather unfortunate location just before
peak hour, causing very large delays on certain parts of track.

Before the new timetable, CityRail was running at approximately 92% on
time. With the new timetable, figures are between 70% and 80%, depending
on breakdowns etc. Hardly brilliant, but not 36%.

Anyone know when the new "old" timetable becomes available? Are CityRail
going to be stupid enough to let marketing do the job again?

(A particularly impressive effort on the Main North timetable was a
train stopping Mt Kuring-gai, Hornsby, Normanhurst, Denistone(!),
Burwood and terminating at the Central Intercity platforms. The previous
train also originated from Normanhurst!).
