Sixteen NR locomotives have now been fitted with "Wedge" radio units and
are now seen leading National Rail trains on the North corridor. More
are being fitted at the rate of one a day.

In the middle of June a program has been set to remove the "LDU's" from
C class locos and transfering these units into NR's.

Four G class locos are to be wired up for ICDU.

By the middle of July you will no longer see C class locos leading any
trains in Victoria. So get those shutters clicking.

Also by the middle of August the BL class locos will meet the same fate.

Definition:

Wedge= MDC600 Motorola train to base radio units. Not a block of wood.

LDU's= Locomotive Display Units used for ASW working between Manor and

pipe pressure at the rear of the train.
