I hope I am not doing a Bromage on this post......but

these cars were converted to 4'8 1\2" and sent to NSW. All the cars were
sold by the recievers and most went to Junee to be hauled by reco 421's,
at least one being painted in that rich Green and lined yellow.
Last October as part of the Dodgy Bros Bus Tour to AMRA
Exhib.Liverpool, we visited the Junee Roundhouse and inspected this
painted 421 and perhaps 12 green cars. Also one outher 421 was painted
cream and looked like Lloyd's milkybar HO model. These vehicles were all
marshalled into one train and I believe have since moved elsewhere.
The "cp" type power Vans were bought buy Grollo's who
stripped the Alternaters out and donated what was left to SteamRail.
Wally Rail rebuilt very unhappy looking cars that were painted
a sort of 'grass green' and had been boarded up at Spotswood and
Newport, since the Bins days. Their CP vans were the V/Line modified
vehicles . And got with all the outher worn out stock. Give them their
dues though, I never thought anyone would be able to rebuild those old
cars, from a distance, they looked rooted.
