I've already located some very good route frequency information on
the web, but it doesn't mention the types of trams running the service.
Obviously I could go out and look at each route, but there seem to be
some people with a very detailed knowledge of the network
contributing to this newsgroup so you might be able to save me a
lot of time!
The program I am using is a German shareware program called Bahn.
The latest version is only available in german, but fortunately my
wife speaks fairly fluent german so I'm gettin on with it quite well!
It's proving to be quite absorbing. Not as good as real modelling,
but as I don't have room for a layout right now, not a bad substitute,
especially as it's possible to recreate the entire suburban network !
It's all about systems rather than doing one station.
Having completed a passable Puffing Billy system, complete with
Sunday timetable I can say that the pleasure is definitely in the
building - the trains effectively drive themselves. But getting them
to do what they are supposed to is lots of fun.
If your interested its available through FTP from a number of sites.
The site below has a lot of good Bahn resources and a few
representations
of UK railways - including the entire London Underground and
the whole rail system of Scotland (!) Try
http://homepages.enterprise.net/iainlogan/
or http://d1.ph.gla.ac.uk/~flavell/bahn340/
has lots of useful resources too
By the by, if anyone can easily list all the suburban train stabling
points apart from Flinders St .... :)
I can think of Lilydale, Ringwood, Alamian(?), North Melbourne,
Broadmeadows(?) ...
Thanks in advance for anyone supplying answers.
