Was talking with a V/Line driver on my way home the other night, and he
pointed out that when he travelled on the XPT in NSW some time ago, they
had driver's rear-view mirrors, and no end-to-end radio. The only
communication between the driver and conductor was the time-honoured
'bell' system.
Is this still the case?
