The XPT has no rear-view mirrors. I suppose they think they would
interfere with aerodynamics at high speed? They are fitted with end to end
radios on the 450.050 and 469.700 frequencies for NSW and Victoria. They
are also fitted with the new FreightCorp Sattelite Radio System.
They have always been fitted with an intercom system which communicates
between the PSS (in the XFH or XAM), the buffet (in the XBR) and the driver
(in the XP).
The bell is used at stations for right of way.
