Bits and pieces from contemporary issues of NSW Digest:
3246 last worked 720 Singleton - Newcastle passenger on Sat 24-Jul-1971 and
ran light engine Broadmeadow - Enfield on the following Tuesday.
3237 was listed as set aside at Dubbo on 1-Nov-1971, and left Dubbo on
3-Nov-1971 (being replaced by 5408). I *guess* that it ran light engine.
3229 suffered its hotbox while running LE to Wollongong for a RTM tour, and
limped back to Goulburn. 3229 last ran LE from Goulburn to Enfield on
31-Dec-1971.
And in the same period, the last 40 class (4015) was withdrawn on
13-Dec-1971 and sent to Simsmetal on the following day.
