I dont know about any of that, but I'm a cynical bugger when it comes to
village politics.  I know the light rail idea was floated originally in
conjunction with the rail closure proposals, and whatever the council
may or may not have said officially, I'll bet that the original
proponents are macchiavelling around in the background if not the
foreground.
