Visited Sydney recently.
A number of times I heard, over the PA in the carriage, a fairly loud
anouncement which said "orsclo".
Over time a pattern became evident. "Orsclo" assulted our ears not
long before the train left each station.
Then at one station "orsclo" became "doorsclosing" as the doors
closed!
Next station our ears were once again assulted with "orsclo".
Why bother even saying something that cannot even be interpreted by a
(hopefully) intelligent, non-hearing impaired, Australian? All it did
was distract from the more meaningful sound of the doors closing.
