I heard that a few years ago when RMIT and Victoria University of Technology
were planning to merge, a name that was suggested and made it to the
shortlist was Central University of New Technology, until (as above) some
smart person put the initals together and found teh word C**T. Supposedly it
was submited by a student. BTW the merger never went ahead.
