Re: 5 Dead in XPT accident

I live near the Cementary Road crossing here in Byron Bay. I think I'm the
only local who actually STOPS at the stop sign. Most just look to the left
then right and plant their foot on the accelerator. Often people behind me
blast their horn at me for stopping at the crossing!!!!!. A couple of nights
ago I had to stop for the XPT to pass. A car approached from behind at a
fast speed. For a moment I felt caught between the XPT and this speeding car
who I thought was going to run into the back of me and force me onto the
track in front of the XPT. He braked in time when he realized I was stopped
and waiting for the train to pass. I live another day.
