Last week I was a tourist on Puffing Billy. Saw cars stopped in both
directions at the flashing lights at one level crossing (as we
approached on Puffing Billy) then one car weaved a Z around the
stopped cars and crossed in front of the train.
Surely some people are just brain dead and should be taken off their
life support system!!!
There are some idiots for which any protection device is only seen as
a challenge to be got around. In reality I guess what needs to be
concentrated upon is that the protection device in place is
appropriate and effective for all but such brain dead people. We can
then only hope these idiots permanently remove themselves from our
roads by wiping themselves out by wrapping themselves around a tree in
a single car smash.
I am not meaning to sound as though I am passing judgement regarding
the XPT smash as I am not in possession of sufficient facts. That is
up to those investigating the smash.
