Truck driver killed instantly by XPT train

A 46-year-old man died instantly when his truck was hit by an XPT train in
south-western New South Wales today.
The XPT, en route from Melbourne to Sydney, hit the truck at the Burns Road
crossing at Bomen, 5km north of Wagga Wagga about 1.30pm AEDT, a police
spokesman said.
The driver of the truck was killed instantly.
The crossing has lights and bells but no boom gate and authorities were
investigating how the accident occurred.
There were no reports of any injuries to train passengers or the train
driver.
Passengers were taken to Wagga Wagga by bus.
