If trains ran in the same direction around the loop all the time, rather
than changing direction at midday, then someone travelling to/from (say)
Flagstaff would have a shorter trip at one end of the day and a longer
one at the other, which would exactly balance the situation incurred by
someone going to/from Parliament; and it would make very little
difference for someone going to/from Melbourne Non-Central. Would that
not be entirely fair, in that no one would then be getting (on average)
a longer or shorter journey time than anyone else, irrespective of which
city station they wish to use?
