A prominent regional MP has renewed her calls for a rail spur line to
Coober Pedy. The current rail line passes 50 kilometres to the west of
the opal mining town. The State Member for Giles, Lyn Breuer, says a
spur would benefit the Aurion Pig Iron project, which will be extracting
ore from near Coober Pedy, and processing it at Whyalla.
