You are not supposed to put your ticket through the gate at Lidcombe
as you have not completed the journey.  This is the case with any bus
replacement system.  YOu're not finishing your journey, just changing
"trains".

If you are travelling Berala to Parramatta and Berala is totally
closed you are (legally) supposed to go to the Lidcombe booking office
when you get there and purchase a Berala to Parramatta ticket (not a
Lidcombe to Parramatta ticket) so that your fare will be paid.
