[Olympic] Staff tags

Interesting to see at Penruff yesterday one of the usual Revenue Protection
Officers wearing a couple of badges saying the languages that she spoke.

She was not undertaking revenue protection duties, but was there as a
customer service droid (probably a wise move, given the large crowds - you
don't want the yanks to go home with bad impressions because they got
confused about buying CityRail tickets on the days they did not have event
tickets).

The badges said she spoke Francais, Espanol and Deutsche - the French and
Spanish tags looked professionally made up, but the German tag was badly
done, being a hand written sticker on a piece of plastic.

I think it was an excellent idea to have these tags, given the large number
of foreign visitors.

Would it be possible/desirable to extend this? CityRail staff (some of them
anyway) have been provided with photo ID cards, I am not sure if these will
continue after the circus, or if they are just a circus security measure.

If they are to continue, perhaps they could adopt an approach that QANTAS
have with cabin crew, where the flag of the country of the language they
speak is on the name tag (French flag if they speak French, etc).

Given that Sydney is expected to experience a post-circus tourism boom, and
also given Sydneys vast numbers of people from other countrys, this is
perhaps a way that CityRail could get itself into the goodbooks of at least
some members of the community.
