Can't agree totally. North and West intercity trains stop at Strathfield to
allow interchange between inner west, north, west and south. Strathfield is
far too important a stop for really, any train to miss (apart from some high
peak Penrith trains, which are full by the time they're at Parramatta)

Official CityRail statistics back in 1995 already shows Fairfield alone has
double the patronage of all of the stations on the Sefton-Carramar section
of the line combined!!! I like the way they've shut down Berala/Regent's
Park as that really does isolate the lines and minimises problems. However
of course this can't be done in the long term.
