So? Melbourne has Metrol and about 25 other signal boxes which are
attended for running trains (they get to go home on a Saturday night
before the Sunday Morning Trains). Then about another 10 signal boxes
switch if for peak hour(s).

Then there is about another 10 used for emergency working, and special
events.

I won't start on the country boxes as NSW will bet VIC hands down.
