The Northern Territory's Chief Minister, Denis Burke, has announced an
official starting date for construction on the Alice Springs to Darwin
railway. There will be a sod-turning ceremony in Alice Springs on December
19 which Mr Burke says will involve the Prime Minister and a special
shovel.
