With thanks to the "TENDERS" in the Centralian Advocate
for the following:

COMMENCEMENT OF SECTION 15

Section 15 of the AustralAsia Railway (Special
Purposes) Act 2000 will commence on the 4th December
2000 by notice in the Northern Territory Government
Gazette.  This will have the effect of revoking the 4Km
wide Reservation from Occupation (RO) which was
declared under section 178 of the Mining Act along the
railway route from the South Australian border to
Darwin and reimposing a 800 metre wide RO from Alice
Springs to Darwin.

The area consequently released from the RO will, from
the date of gazzetal, be available for mining tenure
under the Mining Act.
