At a reported $9 one way, I don't think so.
The Melbourne Airport options all appear based on a more 'premium'
type of express service, if this the model adopted then you can
see that it will be commercial suicide. The fare for a 'premium'
train into town, plus the Metcard for the next leg home means that
any operation of this type is going to cost a fortune for anyone
travelling to the airport. Depending on the airfare then you
might pay 40% of the airfare on getting to & from the airport at
each end, on Public Transport...? Ouch.
