Many of the bus priority lights work very poorly as the slip lane at the
left of the road is not long enough and traffic backs up behind the
lights for a greater distance than the length of the slip lane..  The
Priority for the O-Bahns from Gilberton to the city is shocking...  For
trunk lines, a reserved right of way is critical....

Run a tram down a median stip is probably still preferable to running it
on the road, however, most councils, traffic authorities wont go the
whole way and ensure priority, not just for the tram itself but also for
passengers boarding and alighting...
