Eyes wide shut?  Or do you only count those on the platform as your train
arrives (hint: double it to include those that get off your train).

At 1,000 people/day that's 0.5 people to board and leave at each station for
each of the 250+ trains/day.

The only other explanation from my observations and your figures is that I'm
the star attraction and these people only use AL stations to grab a glimpse
of me - not bloody likely.
