It depends on what you want to use it for. 100kb is ok for just looking
at the photo, but it will look really crap if you try to use it as a
background. The photos on my site range from 150 - 300kb. The size
depends on how much detail is in the photo. If the photo was taken on an
overcast day and there is alot of sky, the file size will tend to be
much lower than a photo taken on a sunny day with no sky (ie: much more
detail). On a 56k dial-up connection or higher, the maximum download
time for files on my site is about 1 minute. I think anything that is
300kb or lower is acceptable. Anything over 300kb is too large until
most people have cable modems. :-)
