Re: WA. rottnest tourist rail

The Rottnest Island Railway is alive and well. It was basically re-built on
the alignment of the original military railway - condition was too poor to
re-use. Track work was done by the Per Way Institute.
There are plans to replace the two shunting tractors and wagon sets with
'railcars' seating 56 people. Then ST1 will be returned to the mainland back
to its owner the ARHS(WA). The other tractor may stay as a spare - probably
depends on how many rail car units are built.
