Yes...I got that false impression also.....

I guess you have to live near Spencer street or North Melbourne in order to
hear Steams ....I used to live near North Melbourne station and I LOVE  the
horn of N class, BL and Sprinters:-)

The other place I can think of (within Melbourne) would be Belgrave
