Re: Riverton to Spalding Line - SA History



Hi

I think the Riverton-Spalding line closed due to damage from the Ash
Wednesday bushfires in 1983 or 84 and did not reopen- source, 'SA
Diesels in the 80s' pictorial.  There is a pic in there of two 830s on
a ballast working on the line in 1982.

I think a train may have run in 1986 or 87 to clear wagons- there were
a couple of pics in Catchpoint.
