With 15 minute frequency service, I don't think they need them. They only
use 4 of the 7 trams in daytime service, and some times they run a 5th.
(Peak times?). That still leaves 2 idle trams in the depot at any time.
The fact is they have more trams than they need for the current service.
If they run 6 in 'peak' service, and have only 1 spare instead of 2,
It will work. If very 2nd tram turns back at Wentworth Park, they can
keep the high frequency service to the Casino and run a 15 minute
service on the extension. If the trams can run at sustained 80Kmhr
what would be the running time on the extension? I don't know the length
with any accuracy.
Any one want to take a stab at calculating the round trip time between
Wentworth Park and Catherine St ?
