[NSW] Banyabba crossing loop disconnected

When travelling the Summerland way from Grafton to Casino last Monday I
detoured to check out Banyabba crossing loop. The loop has been
disconnected from the main at the down end at least - not something I recall
having read about. The loop departure signals are inoperable and turned 90
degrees away from the tracks.

I was surprised Banyabba loop was retained when Lawrence Road loop opened
considering their proximity, it appears Banyabba may have fallen victim to
common sense.

Strangely though the main line signals associated with Banyabba loop (3 in
each direction) are still operable [3 of the 6 I checked were anyway].
Unlike the signals at Gurranang loop which were recycled elsewhere on the
North Coast.

Can anyone advise how long ago the loop was decommissioned and why the
Banyabba's main line signals remain operable?
