Agreed ...it would make more sense to start at either end with one central
location also. Rail and stuff can be easily shipped to Darwin..railed to and
from  Alice..and trucked to the central point...just like building a
bridge..which essentially is what is being built.. a bridge..at low
altitude!!...makes no sense to build in total isolation...still "those that
know all" have been consulted!!  They know better.
