[VIC] Bendigo Rattler

The consist of this train from Ballarat was Y112 - WT49 - T413 -
GY16678P - GY2855D - WAL951 - ABU32 - BV18 - BV7 - BL13 - ABU40 - ZD600.
It left Ballarat shortly after 1100 and arrived in Maryborough at 1242,
8 minutes early. After the Y was watered T413, the goods wagons and the
WAL were shunted into the yard. Y112 then ran a shuttle to Talbot with
the wooden cars. This arrived back late and the tour finally departed at
1518, just over an hour late. When we got to Castlemaine just after 1650
train control forced the tour to wait until the 1735 down pass reached
Bendigo. As the special was supposed to connect with the up Swan Hill
pass at Bendigo at 1850, most passengers had to get off at Castlemaine.
The problems didn't end there! :-) On Sundays most down trains use
platform No2 but as the special was held in the No 2 platform, the down
pass had to cross over onto the up line to use the No 1 platform. After
the special cleared the Maryborough line, there was a malfunction with
the track circuits which meant they couldn't switch the points to allow
the down pass onto the up line. It took nearly an hour to find a way to
switch the points manually and the down pass finally arrived in the
station approximately an hour late. When I left Castlemaine on the up
Swan Hill pass at about 1920, the special was still in the No 2
platform.
