Re: Budget 2000, anything for rail??

According to the Courier Mail there was some money for Brisbane Light
Rail. Out of $340 million for transport projects in QLD, $11 million
was for the light rail, with the rest going to road projects (more
highway duplication, "black spot" elimination, preliminary work on the
2nd Toowoomba Range crossing, road upgrades for heavier road trains). In
other words, a typical anti-rail budget, as if any of us could have
seriously expected otherwise.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the money for the light rail was a
rehash of funding already announced as part of the Centenary of
Federation program.
