State Transit recently bought out North and Western, for those that don't already know, and
therefore pensioner $1 excursion area is now extended right to the area that N&W formerly served.
Calculated by distance travelled, State Transit is much more economical than CityRail. 1 section
(distance between Strathfield and Burwood) for an adult on Rt. 415, 408 or 458 costs just less than
$1.50 whereas CityRail would charge $2.00, with off-peak frequencies of only one train every 15
minutes.
