Liverpool station

Hi all,

I had the (dis)pleasure of visiting the newly-opened renovations of
Liverpool Station yesterday. And I am extremely disappointed! CityRail have
done an appalling job renovating a station which DIDN'T need it, and the new
design and layout is so badly designed, it's not funny.

Some issues I have with it:

* The new taxi rank/kiss-and-ride/parking area - it's tiny! I arrived at
Liverpool station at 7pm, well past the main peak rush, and it was still
full! The fact that many drivers would stop in the midle of the turning
circle waiting for passengers holding up all the other traffic didn't help
either.

* The bus area. It's huge! Looking at the new bus interchange, you'd think
that Liverpool is serviced by hundreds of buses an hour! But no, it was 7pm
and there wasn't a single bus for the entire 20 minutes that I was there.

* Lack of public phones - there used to be several phones near the old
ticket gates - now there are NO phones anywhere except on the platforms.

I guess I could rant on and then some, but I won't..... except I wasn't
impressed at all, especially after it took me 6 hours to travel from my
house in southern Wollongong to Liverpool, thanks to Jubilee 2000 and a
crappy Wollongong bus system whose timetables do not have any consideration
for connection to CityRail trains......

Does anyone else have any thoughts on the new Liverpool concourse?

Regards,
Bradley.
