Re: NR's at Penrith

I think that I may have mis-read the original post.
2GS2 is the regular Monday runner, and is due through Springwood at around
1815/1820; last Monday, I saw it between Valley Heights and Springwood at around
the 1820-mark.

There is a thing called 1XS7, which is the return on the previous Tuesday's
(departs Chullora at around 2300) "TraileRail", but technically is tabled
through the Mountains late morning. It is not unusual, though, to see it late
afternoon. It is normally only a single NR, and not all that long. I
understand that it splits from the Perth - Melbourne "TraileRail" service at
Port Augusta on Sunday afternoon - hence 1XS7 (1 for Sunday, X = Port Augusta, S
= Sydney, 7 is the designation for "TraileRail" services), and literally follows
WL2 from Broken Hill.
I didn't see it on Monday, and it would appear, if this is the service involved,
that it might have been running very late, and literally following right up the
rear of GS2.
