Usually luxury trains aren't affect by cut price airlines or coaches.
Example VSOE or GSPE are a class of its own, some would see getting
there is all the fun! Same with Indian Pacific and Ghan, Queenslander.

Virgin would likely to hurt "the Overland", interstate XPT services but
not(hopefully not!) Ghan and Indian Pacific.
