Re: "WA on track for $59m super trains"

I would be surprised if there was anyone in WA who would believe that the
present Government would do anything towards extension of ANY rail service.
It was a Liberal Minister who set about closing down all of the Metro
services. The only one which remained was the Armadale line. The extension
North to Currambine was the vision of a Labour Gov. Un happily before it
could be opened there was change in Gov and the Liberal Gov reaped the glory
of the new system.
Successive Liberal Transport Ministers have baulked at spending anything on
rail but opened the way for huge trucks to operate within the confines of
the city. All previous liberal governments (purposefully lower case) have
closed rail links but never opened a new one.
Anything promised by this government is merely vote seeking. They have
closed the Midland workshops and closed Forestfield yard. Any railway man's
job is not safe.
Just look at the Gunning Inquiry into the Financial Investor's robbery of
Pensioner's savings to understand that whatever they say about rail is a
nonsense!
