Perhaps Gah-nin-nin may have intended these for
passenger use.  BUT Australian National had them
earmarked for high speed intermodal freight.

Political changes, read NRC changed all that.  
They were used on the Ghan but nowhere near as much as
the other classes, such as DL's and the later CLP's.
