Darwin rapid rail link proposal.

Heard on ABC radio this morning, the re-elected Mayor
of Darwin George Brown, saying that one of his
priorities would be to push the NT Gov for a rapid rail
link between Palmerston and Darwin.

Palmerston is the closest the proposed AS to DAR rail
line will come to Darwin City on its way to East Arm
and depending on where you measure, is a 20 minute
drive from the City.

Interesting that the Commonwealth Railways proposed a
local service using the NDH railcars some 30 years ago
on the old North Australia Railway.
