Brits have been grumbling about the privatised rail system. Having said
that, the same people would probably complain about public money being
spent to improve it.

As a matter of interest, GBP1 per capita in the UK is roughly equpialent
to $1 per capita in Australia, given the relative populations and the
exchange rate. Is it too much to ask for $60 billion for rail in Australia? :)
