Passengers on the Sydney Light Rail extension

Members of the Glebe Society (and a few friends) crammed onto a Light rail
set at the Glebe station this morning (Sat 15th) for a tour to the new
terminus.
Once we had all signed the appropriate indemnity form, away we went, through
the tunnel then stopping and descending for a look see at each of the three
next stations to Lilyfield Rd.
On return the run was at full speed (up to 60Kmh) stopping at Jubilee park.
Most of us left the tram (new marketing name) which proceeded, almost empty
to the starting point and we all walked through the tunnel.
The trip was well organised, nice material handed out (as you'd expect from
the Glebe Society) and a good time had by all.
The track appears to be mostly on the original sleepers and rails, although
the tunnel has been re-sleepered in concrete.
