Re: Yet more radios needed

AS A PERSON FROM WITHIN THE INDUSTRY I MUST ADD MY TWO CENTS WORTH.
AT PRESENT THERE IS NO WAY WHAT SO EVER OF A NON CITY RAIL
SERVICE(NR/FREIGHT CORP OR ANY NON CITY RAIL OPERATOR) COMMUNCATING WITH A
CITY RAIL SERVICE IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.
AS YOU CAN IMAGINE THIS IS NOTHING SHORT OF LUDICROUS.
PUT YOURSELF IN THE SHOES OF A CREW MEMBER WITH A DERAILMENT/EMERGENCY
SITUATION ON HIS/HER HANDS WITH A CITY RAIL SERVICE BEARING DOWN ON THEM AND
ONLY BEING ABLE TO WAVE A FLAG/TORCH/ARMS IN A DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO ATTRACT
THE CITY RAIL DRIVERS ATTENTION TO STOP HIM/HER SHORT OF COLLIDING WITH THE
DEAILMENT OR COMING IN CONTACT WITH THE EMERGENCY AT HAND.(DANGEROUS GOODS
INCIDENT FOR EXAMPLE).THERE ARE MANY REASONS AS TO WHY THE COMMUNICATIONS
SYSTEMS ARE AS THEY ARE. BUT WE MUST AS A PARAMOUNT TO SAFETY ENSURE ALL
OPERATORS ARE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER AS THE NEED ARISES.!
