Re: Pendennis Castle swap for tasman garret k1



Who exactly is "they"? Hamersley Iron own the loco and why on earth would they want
to swap it for something else? They are sending it back as it can't be run on their
line any more. It is said to be donated to the Great Western Society at Didcott who
don't have a Tassie K1, WD2-10-0 or any other non Great Western steam loco. If it
goes to Didcott at least it will be appreciated by people who can restore it and
run it. Why would we want any more steam locomotives in this country, there are
dozens of them rusting away in parks unlike the UK.
