A friend recently bought one of those terraces. I'm not surprised they
lost their phone line. One by one the SRA has been selling the terraces
off, but the SRA techs had just stapled their phone lines across the front
on the entire row. One by one as the now private terraces are renovated,
the new owners rip all the telephone wire off the the front of their houses.
I don't think any are owned by the railways anymore so it doesnt matter now.
I have a krone test block I removed from a rather dirty krone junction
block at my friends house. It was probably the junction that feed the
row of terraces. It doesn't work now, my friends have started renovating
their rather run down terrace and started pulling of the layers of telephone
cables that adorn their terrace!.

Some how the railways have managed to keep the electricty sane, although
the water pipes tend to cross between the terraces like the SRA phone
lines did.

I also reasonably frequently walk to down Wilson St on the way to work, the
fire service still seems to have a truck and a great deal of equipment.
