Re: New St Leonards Station & DVA

St Leonards has new style DVA messages (with very similar software as
Olympic Park). The accompanying SPI and the messages appear to be pretty
much automated. Messages are not only broadcast on platforms, but also on
the concourse, the square outside the paid area and above the ticket
windows. They announce the train and the departing platform, but no longer
contain where the train runs "via" (eg via Strathfield) where it is
appropriate.

As platform numbers have changed and people get used to the new station,
many North Shore-bound people were used to hearing "the train on platform
number 2 goes to Hornsby" at the old station, and do the bolt to catch it.
Trouble is they are STILL doing it.......and now that the new platform 2 has
become the Up platform, the Hornsby trains in question are running via
Strathfield!

Needless to say, they jump off at Wollstonecraft.....
