IIRC not all the ELs are refurbished, some of them still have big gear
rratio and capable of high speed operation.
Maybe class 80 of Freight corp or 422 class are more suitable for FV,
Freight corp have plenty of them spare, FV can hire them for its NSW
and standard gauge operation......

and what about ex-NR(ex-V/line) C class?
I remember there are still a few stored somewhere.(Junee?)
